Jungle Dreams
Am headed for Corbett National Park this weekend. All of us at the office are looking forward to this trip even though we will need to review our quarter's work there. This month has been extra taxing for us with dozens of things happening together in a frenzy, so even a meeting out of the same premises is a welcome change. Not to mention to get away from the city. Although I am a city bred person but after a while I need to stretch myself in either the pristine or the wild surroundings of mountain or jungle. The noise, the traffic, the people, in fact the modern day civilization gets to me. Often when I get back not only do I feel recharged but am ready to attack the surreal life of the metro.
Last time I went to Corbett in 2004 it was high summer and the forest was dry. But this time post monsoons it expected to be lush and a riot of colours. Kumeria by the banks of river Kosi is the village where we are headed, not much is available on it except for the fact that it is 30 kms from the nearest railhead Ramnagar.
Apart from missing my other half for four days I will also miss music so it seems as I cannot locate any of my old beaten walkman or discman. So loads of shopping to do. Need to pick up some kind of music device as well as a pair of floaters for the river bed walking. And the essential tube of sun screen.
Will definitely post about our escapades once I am back...till then stay cool!

and since meeaaaoowww cared to give some advice, I'll follow her suit. Its important that you leave the park as pristine as you found it. And don't feed the animals. You don't want the animals getting used to humans, coz then they'll be easy game for poachers..
This I'm saying because the last time we went through Nagarhole national park, I had a hard time convincing the people I was travelling with not to offer biscuits to the gibbon to try and get it closer for a better shot.
