And then came the rain...

Delhi experienced a short but beautiful shower with strong gusts of wind engulfing the returning traffic caught in its suddeness. Although I got thouroughly wet on the auto ride back home, I could not be less bothered. When you live in dry Delhi and commute on non-ac mode of transport you would know why I am so ecstatic and can overlook the bikes and car spewing water on me as they pass the green yellow auto, the poor man's cab in Delhi. Usually the the roads go for a sixer choked with traffic in the slightest of downpour in this city and please don't think this driving slow is due to some sensitivity towards the commuters on the roads, on the contrarary it is because they want to save their vehicles from getting ruined,as if they are not heavy engineering mechanisms but some papier mache automobilles! But today somehow all the Dilliwalas moved quite rationally in the downpour and I enjoyed a treat. A shower straight out to please my senses.

I had exactly the same reaction last week to a scorching sunny day..because it was the first I had in almost a month here in Hyderabad. It has been cloudy for weeks and weeks..and the whole city was reeking of the wet cloth smell. Guess to much of either makes us go crazy.
