Drama in real life
A quiet neighbour hood of the city, time half past mid night, a solitary road crossing and we wait patiently for the light to turn green. We were in a cheerful state of mind as we were coming back from a house warming party and the next day was a Sunday anyway.
Suddenly the calm of the midnight is broken by a screeching noise of the wheels and lo and behold we see a huge SUV speeding down as if it has no tomorrow looming on the rear view mirror. The tyres burn and the speeding vehicle misses our car by a whisker and turns right at 150 km/per hour and comes to a grinding halt. There is an palpable sigh of relief that we breath in our vehicle and a few others waiting at the crossroads. We were sure the brakes on the car was definitely not working so we peered out of the window to see if we could be of any help.
We were definitely not ready for what met our sight. The driver was a lady of twenty three or four and was all decked up in her bridal make up and jewelry but was wearing a grey track pants and T. Our offer to help was turned down summarily.
As we moved on I thought out loud what we saw was probably straight out of Hollywood flick "Runaway Bride," where the lead actress has a penchant for running away from her own weddings and as a result from reality. The lady in question was definitely married the same night as was very clear from the vermillion on her forehead, so what a newly wed bride doing in a battered old SUV at the dead of midnight doing at a solitary road crossing? Trying to change things perhaps? Or chasing her dreams and escaping from the imprisonment that was imposed on her.
Life is a jigsaw puzzle which needs a lot of figuring out from time to time and we might not always follow the same path to experience it but that no way takes away the beauty of our experiences. After all it is just one life we have got. Who know what is it to be after we die? May be we get a second chance or may be not. So lets not wait for the second chance to arrive just go ahead and follow your dreams readers. The lady may have got a second chance in her life we would never get to know that. But I for one would surely like to believe that.
