There is no business like show business...
It's been a while since I have watched any film in the theater. But between the Golden Globe and Star Screen Awards I have been rewarded immensely. As not only did our very own A.R. Rahman wowed the millions across the globe with his music as he has done over the years to us but also because Anil Kapoor got his due recognition too, which the great Bollywood could never endow upon him. And a member of the family got the best supporting actress award in Star Screen Awards too! What more could I ask for? The added bonus was probably King Khan presenting the GG phenomenon of the year at the event!
It saddens to know that our dear Mr. Big B is upset about the content of Slum Dog Millionaire. How he would like to wish away the underbelly of India. But Sir, I am sorry one needs to do more than just wishing it away in making changes. What I presume hurt him most is probably Mr. Kapoor's success as the quiz master (that too trained by none other than our very dear Quiz Time quiz master Siddharta Basu) and Danny Boyle passing Mr. Big B for lesser appreciated Anil Kapoor.
Now let's look at the content please. Well, Sir, Dharavi does exist and so does Harlem I agree, but turning a blind eye to either is not a solution and I think more films or TV dramas have been made on Harlem or Bronx than Dharavi. So relax India is definitely not alone. But for once praise a film, which could reflect the reality and contrast that is India. And that it had captured people's consciousness is amazing. To my deepest regret the greater part of India is a far cry from the lavish homes and picturesque locales of the song and drama extravaganza that we get to see in Bollywood, I wish every Indian could live and experience life like that, wishful thinking on my part? Please excuse Sir. I am sure the large contingent is waiting with baited breath for two big flicks of this month with the first release of Warner Brother collaboration with the a great name "Chandni Chowk to China". And definitely following week the Millionaire comes home.

Does it seem to you that we have become a nation of touchy people, taking offense at even being called bhaiya? Going by the current trend, but we have to soon carry the "Badrotar" dictionary and flip it open before saying anything in public!
