Weather phenomenon

Well, well it is a very blessed coincidence that I am writing about the weather and Delhi back to back. But that is why we love Delhi, as you distinctly get to experience everything in a span of twelve months. We do get the highs of the desert in April, May and June; stifling humidity of Chennai in July, August, September; bright and beautiful days and cool night of Bangalore of twenty years earlier in October and November; December, January and February we get to feel the north winds of the ice covered mountains and drink hot chocolate and curl up under our favourite quilts, but the grand finale is March when we see spring in full bloom.

So dear reader this morning Delhi woke up to a very surprising mountain rain, my colleague who is from Shillong for the first time in last six months felt at home. At times we do love climate change while the earth lasts.

For a greater part of the day I forget my house moving blues and enjoy the dark skies, lashing rain on the window panes as I sip sweet tea, jasmine tea and green tea...happiness thy name is unexpected glorious rain.

mmmmmmmmm......Indian monsoon. Nothing can beat it. The smell of the freshly wet earth after a hot spell is very tantalizing - nutty! 'Soda Matir Gandho".

Great pictures dear. This reminded me of the time in Hyd when we didn't have car. When the rains came lashing down on the way to office, me and my hubby used to gear up in rain gear- pants and jackets - drive to office in the two wheeler. You can imagine the state we reached. It was fun - loudly squelching your way to office, looking like you are an extra from NASA..heh heh

Yes the plight of the two-wheeler travelers and auto travellers are the worst. yesterday a PCR van slashed water on me and my auto driver and then had the gaul to stare stonily at us as if it was out fault to be on the road when he was driving!!! That's another side of Delhi for you.

Its strange... how weather changes so fast... Our good old city of joy is currently experiencing a 'weather swing'... ( very similar to our 'mood swings'...). Here now ... gone tomorrow types... Suddenly, it extremely hot & humid... with sweat dreanched clothes & BO... the next moment there is 'sexy' breeze & rain...(the type that wants u to snuggle and do some heavy duty making out... mmmmmmmmmmm...

Here it is raining like Cherapunji one minute and scalding sunshine just after that...my escapades to work made me ask a friend to send me a rain coat from Kolkata as delhi has no Duckback shop!!! Why would they? It never used to rain so hard here ever. So much so that some people have no umbrellas even...like yours truly!
