Kindness of others
When you travel solo, which I do practically 50 percent of the time I still get very curious looks, even though it's 2026. Single woman traveling for pleasure seems to be an oddity now. The questions plastered all over their faces, I can see their brains going faster than light brimming with curiosity. Some blurt out, 'oh this is incredible, I can't do it'. Some just do nice things and make it happier by waiving your ticket or giving you a free ticket at certain points even an Euro, lol that too a kid; because I couldn't locate the change in my sling bag and laughed with me too. He was heading for his tennis game and put me out of misery. Sometimes they make an extra effort for the coffee or tea they serve. It really feels like a blessing and lot like pampering when complete strangers are nice on the road on this planet. They don't ask you what race, religion or denomination you are, they just observe and reach out.
I so totally appreciate these small gestures from so many people around the world and thank them from the bottom of my heart. It restores my hope in everything anew. It just makes the world a friendlier place and you're not at war with it for sheer survival. I wish we all would be a little kinder and little bit nicer to everyone around us on daily basis. Helping each other in small ways that cheers us up. No matter how busy we are I think all of us want it and can also make it a regular practice just because only we can.
