Home, home, sweet home

Welcome to my new home. Man! What all it takes to make a house into a home! It's pure hard work, but finally it is more or less done friends and I am so relieved. And it's pure joy finally to make a sense of the place. This apartment being half the size of the earlier one made it a tough task. The other challenge was complete lack of storage space. It was an uphill task from the beginning but have finally surmounted it.

The dining space plus my, morning reading lounge, slim but serves the purpose as I get a nice breeze and sunlight through the windows.

My work space below cum bed room... the small chest of drawers was another piece which I hired for storage.

The living area...
Here I hired two old pieces of furniture, I already had the bookshelf and it has more or less taken care of the books. Although there will be some rearranging every now and then but more or less I have finally created a semblance of home in this tiny apartment. More on guest room, balconies and curtains later...see it is an endless process...but yeah one enjoys it every bit if things don't get too messy and if you don't keep moving from one place to another every second year!

Moving sucks! I'm de-cluttering our house, because we need to renovate, but first we've got to make room, to get to the windows etc.
Moving into a smaller space, I can't imagine! Of course one can do it, if one must! :o)
I hope you'll feel very comfortable in your new home!

AWE !!!
Beautiful Home...
The moment I saw these pictures, I fell in love with those two orange hanging light domes and the two black decorative art pieces which are hanging on the wall beside the bedroom door :)
Well actually I do understand how you might be feeling now to have a house half the size of the earlier one but I must tell you that you have done really a nice job in making it look spacious. :)
I love arranging my space only if I’m not moving every second day ;)

Not bad ..not bad at all. Your interior decoration skills have not suffered i see. But did u have to float those orange UFOs in that drawing room?

@Monika: R E N O V A T I O N!!! Oh how I hate that word especially when the contractor leaves a gaping hole in the wall and disappears, I can just blow my fuse. Hope you have less woes than me. I know small is difficult but that's the best we could do in locating a new place when we moved in here, the other apartments were either too expensive or too crazily laid out.
@ Thanks Asif. I'm glad you liked the orange and red lights which Meeaaaooowww!! thinks to be the alien connection :-) Personally I like them too.
@ U see I am looking at an alternate career choice here, with interplanetary travel being possible in the future I just might get some alien recommendation too!
@Turtles blog, thanks for visiting my blog.

A post after a long time, and a new look. However, transparent foreground with the background picture makes the characters a little difficult to read. It looks good, but its mighty taxing to read.
Two suggestions - The regular font should be bolder, and the opacity of the foreground should be increased.

On your post - its a pity that children *have* to work. One more reason why we should check our population

OK. That post was meant for your latest post. Posted it on something else - proves that transparency is a distraction. ;)
