The "Only Place" for Steaks in India

The four days Bangalore trip was fun filled and euphoric to say the least. A friend's wedding was optimized with great food and some focussed shopping. Deepa a former Banglorean informed us about the steak house on Residency road next to Raheja Towers. If you are a fellow steak lover and in Bangaluru (really I can't understand why a nice name like Bangalore had to become LURU, beats me) do visit the "Only Place" and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. We had an hour before we head our long drive to the airport but that could not be a deterrent for foodies like us.

Please excuse the shaky pictures, in my excitement I seem to have taken very bad pictures...You can choose from a long menu of beef, chicken and fish steaks. Vegetarians don't despair there is some delights for you guys too.

Steak Viennese

Cubed pieces of meat well cooked on a bed of mashed potato and I was happy!

Saurabh ordered a Chargrilled Steak. It too was great.

The popular Tournedos selected by Jina was delicious.

Chateau Briand Steak picked by Sonju was mouthwatering in texture and look both. I am happy that I live in Delhi otherwise I would have been eating out of OPs every weekend! The ambiance is great, service is great and food is fabulous! I give OP a 10/10 for the gastronomic experience.

Next I pick the best pub in town for the 30 somethings...

its not LURU - its Loo-ru ;)
I can replace a couple of vowels and come up with something that sounds a lot better - at least to us who have stayed in hostels, but I'll censor that.

Anyway, I don't want to sound holier than thou, nor am I trying to convert you, but I feel that there is something you should be aware of. Find it here

My stay in US and UK and their propensity for half cooked meat has put me off steaks for life :-(.. May be the chicken wont be so bad...:-)

steak is not my plate of meat - not very tempting for a 'not very carnivorous' me, but your post makes the place worth a visit. Looking forward to your post on pub for 30 something (read almost 40)

Thanks everyone for sharing your candid thoughts. Well an honest confession...I am not a beef lover myself but OP made me try out the beef steak, so you know how successful they are in building confidence! Full marks to them for that. And yeah like most of you next time I would definitely stick to my favourite the fish steaks. WH I know you are extremely rational in approach and I wish you well, but for now I shall continue with my non- vegetarian sojourn...may be in time I will be able to turn vegetarian...

Ujjaini shall definitely let you know about the almost 40s favourite pub sooon!
i am not a steak person really. too much meat at once. i like small helpings. though i saw there were some petite bites on display. looks quite inviting to say the least. didn't know that india sells (beef) steak so readily. i would think that would be a religious offensive to many. but good to see the food chain as just that, food chain and not some god ordained partisan palate. cool reportage proggs!
