Verdant Villages of Kumaon
The setting could not be more picture perfect. Kosi gushing through the gorges with jungles on both side and here is lies a quaint village of Kumeria with a population of 150 with a high school of its own! The naturalist on the way to the village.
The verdant paddy fields in full blossom. The villagers grow paddy and urad daal this season. The daal is the best that I have tasted.
The last time I went to this part was three years ago and since then have always been dreaming of going back. All those people who think the British country side is the best please stop for a moment and see the Indian villages, to me they are the prettiest not only for their picture perfect settings but alsobecause here man lives in harmony with nature, still standing mud huts is the proof.
